How to get an invisible name in Valorant

An invisible Valorant name makes your Riot ID appear completely blank in the agent select screen, scoreboard, kill feed, and chat. Other players see an empty space where your name should be — giving you a distinctive and mysterious in-game identity.

The Braille Blank (U+2800) is the best character for Valorant — Riot Games' name validator accepts it as legitimate text while it renders as completely empty in the game client.

The Hangul Filler (U+3164) works equally well. Both characters are compatible with Valorant on all regions and pass Riot's display name requirements.

Note: You change your Valorant name through your Riot account settings at account.riotgames.com. Riot allows Riot ID changes once every 30 days.

Invisible names in competitive and ranked play

An invisible Valorant name provides both style and tactical advantages in competitive matches:

  • Agent select screen: Your name appears blank during agent selection, making your identity harder to track across matches
  • Kill feed anonymity: When you eliminate a player or get eliminated, the kill feed displays a blank name — opponents can't call out who got the kill
  • Scoreboard stealth: Your performance stats appear next to an empty name on the scoreboard, making it harder for opponents to focus on tracking you
  • Chat intimidation: Messages you send in team or all chat appear to come from an invisible player, adding a mysterious aura

Recommended characters for Valorant

We tested all 49 invisible characters on Valorant. Here are the top 5 sorted by compatibility:

  • Braille Blank (U+2800) — the #1 choice. Full-width blank, accepted by Riot's name validator, works across all regions.
  • Hangul Filler (U+3164) — full-width blank alternative. Great backup if your Braille combination is already taken.
  • Zero-Width Space (U+200B) — zero visual width. Useful for mixing with visible text to create partially invisible Riot IDs.
  • Zero-Width Non-Joiner (U+200C) — zero width, good for splitting visible characters without a visible gap in names.
  • Hangul Choseong Filler (U+115F) — another Korean filler that renders blank in Riot's game client.

Riot ID and tagline tips

Valorant uses the Riot ID system (Name#Tagline). Here's how invisible characters interact with it:

  • Display name: The main part of your Riot ID (before the #) can be set to Braille Blank (U+2800) for a fully invisible name
  • Tagline: The tag after the # also accepts invisible characters, but friends may need your full Riot ID to add you — share it via direct link
  • In-game display: Valorant shows only the display name (without tagline) on the scoreboard and kill feed, so an invisible display name is fully effective
  • Other Riot games: Your Riot ID is shared across all Riot titles — the invisible name also applies to League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, and Wild Rift
  • Change frequency: Riot allows one Riot ID change every 30 days, so plan your invisible name before committing

💡 For Valorant, Braille Blank (U+2800) is the #1 character — use 3–6 copies on account.riotgames.com to set your Riot ID. The change applies to all Riot games. If that combination is taken, try Hangul Filler (U+3164). Both are in the Fillers tab.

How to use invisible text on Valorant

1

Pick a category

Open the generator and browse the three tabs — Zero-Width, Spaces, or Fillers. For Valorant names, start with Fillers.

2

Choose a character

Select the Braille Blank (U+2800) card — it's the most compatible with Riot's Riot ID system.

3

Set the quantity

Drag the slider to generate 3–6 characters. Riot requires a minimum name length, so use at least 3.

4

Copy to clipboard

Click the copy button. The invisible text is now on your clipboard, ready to paste.

5

Change your Riot ID

Go to account.riotgames.com → Riot ID, clear the display name field, paste the invisible text, and save. Your Valorant name is now invisible.

Frequently asked questions about Valorant

Can I get banned in Valorant for using an invisible name?+

No. Invisible characters are standard Unicode code points — they are not hacks, cheats, or exploits. Riot treats them as regular text. There is no risk of bans, suspensions, or penalties.

How do I change my Valorant name?+

Go to account.riotgames.com, log in, navigate to Riot ID, clear the display name field, paste the invisible text, and save. Riot allows Riot ID changes every 30 days.

Which invisible character works best for Valorant?+

The Braille Blank (U+2800) is the #1 choice. It renders as a full-width blank and is always accepted by Riot's name validator. The Hangul Filler (U+3164) is a close second.

Does the invisible name show in the kill feed?+

Yes. When you eliminate an opponent, the kill feed shows a blank space where your name should be. This makes it harder for enemies to call out who got the kill.

How many invisible characters do I need for a Riot ID?+

Riot requires a minimum character count for display names. We recommend 3–6 Braille Blank (U+2800) characters. Each one counts as a full character, meeting the length requirement.

Will the invisible name apply to other Riot games?+

Yes. Your Riot ID is shared across all Riot titles. An invisible name set on account.riotgames.com also applies to League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, Wild Rift, and Legends of Runeterra.

Can I mix invisible and visible characters in my Riot ID?+

Yes. Combine Braille Blank (U+2800) with visible characters for a partially invisible name — for example, a single letter or symbol surrounded by invisible padding for a unique display.

What if someone already has the same invisible name?+

Riot's system uses a unique tagline (#1234) alongside the display name. Even if two players have invisible display names, their taglines are different, making each Riot ID unique.
