Invisible Text for Discord

Discord lets you set an invisible server nickname so your name appears completely blank in the member list and chat messages. The trick relies on the Hangul Filler (U+3164) — a Unicode character that occupies visible space yet renders as empty.

To apply it, open the server where you want the invisible name, click your profile picture at the bottom-left, choose Edit Server Profile, paste the Hangul Filler into the nickname field, and save. Your name will vanish from the member sidebar and message headers.

Key limitation: Discord's global display name and username cannot be fully invisible — the platform requires at least one printable character. However, server nicknames accept Hangul Filler without restriction, making it the go-to solution for invisible names.

If the Hangul Filler is stripped on a particular server (some bots filter it), try the Braille Blank (U+2800) as a fallback. It renders identically on most Discord clients.

Invisible characters unlock several creative uses beyond nicknames:

• › Blank messages: Paste a single Hangul Filler (U+3164) or Braille Blank (U+2800) into the chat box and press Enter. Discord sends it as a message that appears completely empty — useful for spacing in announcements or simply confusing friends.

Discord runs on three major clients, and invisible character behavior varies slightly across them:
